I had an older Schumacher portable jump-starter (The Mini Mite) and the batter just would not hold a charge anymore. I purchased this one because of the convinience of the charging tray and the larger capacity. I rarely use it for jump starting, but my wife uses it all the time when she takes or dog our for training. She uses it to powe 12 volt box fans via the socket on the front. It works great and will power the fans for hours to keep our dog cool in his crate in the SUV. (In case anybody is concerned, in between traing sessions when he is in the car, the tailgate and all the windows are wide open) The only issue I have run into is that when having to jump start a vehicle, there is a relay system to prevent connecting the cables to the wrong polarity. BUT, it the battery is TOTALLY dead, it won't trigger the relay to connect the battery pack to the cables. The battery you are jump starting must have some voltage in it, and there is no way to bypass this function. Other than that, it is a great product.

It works great on my 8-cylinder Corvette Z06, but won't start a 6-Cylinder Jaguar X-type. Go figure...new batteries in both now anyway.

I haven't actually had an opportunity to use this product yet, but I received it in a timely manner with clear instructions. It is now sitting in my trunk, ready to jump-start my car if need be. I have, on two occasions, needed a jump-start and a neighbor had one of these devices. It was very helpful, especially when my car was still parked in the garage and another car couldn't get close to the engine.

It seems like cheap you save around 50% off, but still $90 because of docking station come with.
<br />Basically I like product but I do not like current price and docking station is no meaning.
